Commute
Six months into operating, Commute had developed three different service opportunities. But trying to grow all three was beginning to pull the business in different directions. We stepped back to review what the business had learned, where demand was emerging and where greater focus could create a stronger way forward.
Commercial Planning · Campaign & Experience Direction
From three directions to one clear focus.
Three services.
Three different directions.
Commute was developing across three different opportunities.
Airport Transfers
Private Tours
Care Rides
Each had potential. But each required different customers, communication, operations and investment.
Where should the business focus?
Doing more wasn't the answer. Choosing what mattered was.
After six months of operating, we reviewed what the business had learned alongside local market needs, emerging demand and the practical requirements of each service.
One opportunity was becoming increasingly clear.
CARE RIDES
Commute began shifting its focus towards thoughtful, supported transport for people who needed greater care around their journey.
A clearer focus changed the business.
Service
A more focused Care Rides offer.
Investment
Opportunities to reduce unnecessary startup costs.
Operations
A service model better suited to the customers being served.
Positioning
A clearer reason for customers to choose Commute.
Opportunities
More relevant directions for partnerships and collaboration.
Communication
Clearer digital, service and campaign direction.
Designing the Care Experience
Once Care Rides became the focus, the experience needed to reflect it. We looked at the journey through the needs of the customer — from preparing for the ride to communication, comfort and support along the way.
Four principles helped guide the experience:
Calm
Reduce uncertainty.
Consider the small details.
Prepared
Anticipate what customers may need.
Thoughtful
Provide human assistance when needed.
Supportive
The idea of care wasn't limited to messaging.
It informed every part of the brand experience — from visual identity and communications through to service interactions and customer touchpoints. By focusing on reassurance rather than urgency, Commute transformed everyday moments into opportunities to help people feel supported, prepared and looked after. The result was a transport brand grounded in emotional ease rather than transaction — demonstrating how thoughtful branding can turn an everyday service into a more human experience.
Bringing Care To Life
From three directions to one clearer path forward.
Commute moved from developing three different service directions towards a clearer focus — one that could shape the service, communication and customer experience together.
